Dr Nele Lenders is a specialist Endocrinologist with a commitment to providing excellent and evidence-based care to patients. She has a special interest in pituitary disease, sports endocrinology, polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), functional hypothalamic amenorrhoea (FHA) and adrenal disorders.

Nele has completed a PhD in predicting pituitary tumour outcomes, through the Garvan Institute of Medical Research. She has a passion for research and its translation to clinical practice. She has 12 publications in the field of endocrinology and has presented her work at multiple national and international conferences.

Nele is a Visiting Endocrinologist at St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney, where she sees patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Nele has an appointment as a Clinical Associate Lecturer with UNSW School of Medicine, through which she teaches and supervises medical students and junior doctors.

Nele completed Endocrinology specialist training at the Princess Alexandra Hospital (QLD), Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital (QLD), Greenslopes Hospital (QLD) and St Vincent’s Hospital (NSW). She has a breadth of experience in all areas of endocrinology.

Nele also accepts referrals for a range of general endocrine conditions, including diabetes, obesity, thyroid and bone disorders.  

In her spare time, Nele enjoys spending time with family, her dog and running marathons.
