What is an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) and Nutritionist?

Accredited Practising Dietitians are university-qualified nutrition professionals that undertake ongoing training and education. They translate scientific nutrition information into personalised care & practical advice to ensure your clients achieve their health and nutrition goals.

APDs are the only nutrition professionals recognised by the Australian Government and Medicare. APDs are also qualified Accredited Nutritionists. Research shows their involvement improves patient medical outcomes, quality of life, and reduces hospital admissions & re-admissions.

Our APDs approach health care differently to help you achieve your health goals. They practice the highest level of evidence-based, personalized care, taking into account your values, practicality and priorities.

Our APDs are a highly experienced team of APDs, with expertise in a wide variety of areas for disease management. Their personalized & team-based approach enhances patient education and care - establishing long term self-management skills. They undertake ongoing training and education programs in Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) to ensure they are your most up-to-date and credible source of nutrition information.

RECLAIM Program

Our RECLAIM program is an investment in your health. Our bespoke, evidence-based multidisciplinary program aims to reverse insulin resistance and prevent diabetes.  

Our specialised team individually tailors your program to work with your current lifestyle and preferences. We work with you over 90 days to build your skills, knowledge, and motivation to make small but effective changes to your day-to-day. This allows you to Reclaim your Energy, Confidence, Lifestyle, Activity levels and most importantly, reverse insulin resistance - regaining Insulin sensitivity and Metabolic fitness.

This program is suitable for individuals with impaired glucose tolerance, impaired fasting glucose, PCOS, and a history of gestational diabetes. Contact us for a health assessment to see if you are eligible.

Healthy Meals Cooking Demonstrations

Prepare to spice up your daily meals with some yummy flavours, a pinch of creativity, and a dash of indulgence. Join us for a 2 hour cooking demonstration where we will share nutrition and health tips, show you time saving meal hacks and techniques, and prepare some healthy & yummy daily essentials you can recreate in your own home.

Our class schedule varies for each session, allowing you to join and learn new things such as preparing some healthy sauces, marinade, snacks, mains and desserts. Tastings & goodie bag included. For more information, or to register your interest, please contact our reception team.

Optifast (VLED) Program

An effective, safe, and nutritionally complete weight loss program which help you build skills towards sustainable lifestyle changes to keep weight off for the long run. It is associated with improvements in blood glucose levels, insulin sensitivity, blood pressure, TG levels and sleep apnoea. 

Our APDs are have undergone specific training to become Accredited Optifast Health Professionals. This ensures:

  • They understand the Optifast products - allowing them to establish the best method of using the Optifast products for you, ensuring you get the best outcomes on the program.

  • They incorporate nutrition educations, diet and lifestyle modifications, into your Optifast program. This builds your food and nutrition skills and knowledge, assisting you in establishing long term healthy diet and lifestyle choices and routines, preventing weight regain in the future.

This program is suitable for those with impaired fasting glucose, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, sleep apnoea, and individuals who are obese or considering bariatric surgery.

Carbohydrate Counting Program

A diabetes education program focused on equipping adults with type 1 diabetes with skills in carbohydrate counting, insulin dose adjustment, and other diabetes-related topics. This enables patients to match insulin to diet, rather than the other way around, resulting in more flexibility in an individual’s lifestyle, while improving their diabetes control.
