Diabetic Foot Conditions

DIABETIC FOOT CONDITIONS

Principles for managing diabetes-related foot disease and active foot disease in the community setting:

  • Prioritise early identification of the signs of diabetes related foot disease and any related complications to prevent unnecessary hospitalisation by seeing our Senior Podiatrist who is experienced in working for high-risk foot services in the hospital setting.

  • Early detection to manage patients who have feet that are at risk and to reduce complications

  • Care is managed by a multidisciplinary team to maximise positive results. Including your podiatrist, endocrinologists and diabetes educators

  • Monitoring and recording the foot disease status of the person who has diabetes

The NDSS has also created a referral pathway document for people at risk of developing foot disease. Please see the attachment here for further information.

Our Podiatrist can add a Pedicure as an add on after your service

Muscle & Joint Pain

Heel, arch, ankle and knee pain are all signs that your feet may need a little help.
